Yes, it's been way too long as my last entry was July. I read my last entry and I remember now it was around the time where I had a bit of time as I was finished with all the wedding craziness that I was involved in.

Since then, what have I been up to?

Well, around that time we had a few people leave the company I work for - and so I was super busy trying to keep up. We hired more people, and they've finally settled after 4 months or so. I guess it takes about 3-4 months to completely train a programmer. During the summer it was rather slow as the programmers were taking a long time to complete a bug... but now they're going superfast, so I'm having a hard time keeping up.

After the personnel changes, things are better for me, in terms of state of sanity I think. I was so stressed before, and now I'm less so... but I've been finding it harder and harder to keep my spirits up, with too many things I have to do... having a hard time enjoying anything lately. Just keep on going day by day, I guess.

I've taken a week off at the end of October as I'm usually burnt out by November. Took a small road trip to Québec City which was so nice. It started off stressful and rough (as it was raining the whole way) but after that, it was quite relaxing. Spending some time at an Art Gallery is a good thing - I should try to do that more often here also - it's a great way to get away to a quiet space.

This month was rather difficult as we had a bad news coming our way from Japan. My hubby's grandmother had passed last week. I was fortunate enough to have met her last year a few times during our trip to Japan. Even though I really didn't know her, I felt so sad after hearing the news... not fun not fun. I think we'll be having a very quiet christmas this year.

Ugh... end of July already...

It's end of July already. Where has my days gone? This year is flying by like a jet plane. It's been so busy as of late, I can't seem to keep up with anything.

In the past 3 months, I've attended:

3 weddings (1 of which I was in the bridal party, 1 I was heavily involved with as my hubby was the best man)

1 jack and jill

2 bonboniere making parties

2 wedding rehearsal / dinners

2 baby showers (both for one person lol)

Spent lots of time wrapping presents

Spent lots of time staying up late working on things for weddings

Atleast I can see where my weekends have gone. I feel very drained lately. It doesn't help that work is going haywire right now also with more personnel changes.

A few things I did fit in during all these chaos...

had a nice lunch with a friend I haven't seen in ages and I haven't sat down to talk with for even longer

had taken a few days off to show Toronto to relatives in May

had taken a day off just for me last week (though it was a friday before a wedding so it wasn't too restful... not to mention I should take more than 1 day off!)

Hopefully I'll have some more time off soon... because I don't know how long I can last...

CSI - nooooo!

So yesterday I was watching the season finale of CSI (Vegas) by myself... I'm usually quiet when I'm watching tv by myself but yesterday's episode I couldn't help but gasp... nooo!

(The rest is my rant ... and if you haven't seen the episode yet, please stop reading here or else you'll see what happened. I tried to choose a colour that is hard to read - please highlight if you're interested)

Nooo! Warrick! He can't be dead, can he???
I could not believe the writers actually did that to him. I mean, the original cast... killed off like that?! Damn that sheriff guy! When I saw the diner scene where they were having breakfast, I thought, phew, I'm glad Warrick got off this ok - but since he's demoted, where is he going to go? More changes coming? Who's going to fill in his shoes??? But then everybody left one by one, and I see Warrick getting into his car in some dark alley, I thought, wait a minute... this is scary... And then, a knock on the car window - I thought, no Warrick, don't open that window, regardless of who it is! I saw it was the sheriff guy and I thought, okay, why is he there? Why does he have to be so creepy and knock on the door to congratulate him? And then... pow! Ugh! Warrick got shot in the neck! GASP!!!! There's a hole on his neck... oh no, is he dead?! Then the bastard shot him again just to make sure, wiped the gun clean and threw it in the car... nooo...

I couldn't believe what had just happened and stared at the TV for a bit... and then got online and checked the CSI boards just to realize that I watched it before it is on in the States. (CTV airs it an hour early) *sigh* Why do they have to get rid of all my favourites this way?! Speed died too on CSI:Miami... oh well. I have to wait until next season to find out the reactions of the cast... but I hope Gris and all are gonna catch that SoB!

OK, I had to vent... I'm so sad. Yes, I know it's only a tv show ... but it's one of the shows I've watched for a long time and this truly sux.

Little notes on April so far...

April is my birthday month. Yay to me! ;) Actually, I've been feeling rather old and young at the same time lately... not sure how that's possible, but it's true. Thinking about my age makes me feel old... and how easy I get tired / sore lately makes me feel old.. but I am rather naive (and so I feel immature / young)

In the lines of feeling old - my wrist is sore... and I don't remember what I did yesterday to make them sore! The only thing I remember doing is shaking a pen to see if it will write better ... and I did play some Wii... if either of those were the cause, I am old. (-_-;;;

I'm addicted to Super Mario Galaxy (Wii)... I'm playing it when I get the chance. I suck at specialty worlds - like the ghost mansions, frozen worlds, sandy deserts, bee worlds... *sigh*

It's finally getting warm~! I found this winter harder than any other winters - getting buried in snow to catch a streetcar (because they don't shovel snow around the stops), walking in crazy snowstorms / wind / sidewalks that are not plowed yet (I get that around where I live) etc. etc. etc... I'm sooo glad snow is finally gone.

Baseball season started - woo, I can smell summer! Yes, my hubby is glued to the tv for the NHL playoffs...but every now and then I get to check the baseball scores!

April couldn't have come any sooner

Finally, it's end of March. Boy, it was a loooong March. I am so looking forward to April and hoping that it would be a better month. I mean, don't get me wrong, there were some good things that happened in March... but it's been such an expensive month I am so glad it will be over soon.

It all started with me losing my Metropass. I've always thought it would suck big if I ever lost it or misplaced it, but never thought too hard on not losing it... well, I placed it in my jacket pocket on the morning of March 6th after I got on the streetcar to get to the office - and by the time I tried to get onto a streetcar at the end of the day to get home, I realized it was gone. Well, I don't know if I dropped it or somebody easily just took it out of my pocket in the short crowded ride on the streetcar that morning - but I hope whoever took it or picked it up made a good use of it, because I felt sooo bad after that. Since it was so early in the month (I used it all of 3.5 days) I feel like I lost a good $100. *sigh*

Then we had a problem with our car. It was parked on a street and somebody backed into the front tires, making the surrounding area damaged. Atleast this time the people who backed into the car left a note, but it's still inconvenience we had to deal with...

We did get our car back after a long week and a half (it felt longer as there was a holiday inbetween) but there's still problems with it so we had to take it back... and it's going to cost us money again to fix it as it's apparently not going to be covered by insurance. Great.

We had whole bunch of other costly things piling up this month - I am sooo hoping April would be better... and the income tax returns will come quickly (we still have to file it, but we still have time)

Come on spring... come on April...

Happy birthday ...

Happy birthday love!
Today is the day that you were born... many years ago.
Feeling old yet? ;)
Coincidentally, it's Chinese new year.
I don't remember if this happened ever before, I don't think I remember the time it did.
Whatever the case, I'm happy that you were born... and found me. :)

Happy birthday!
I hope things would turn out better this year than the last.
And many more years to come.

Satoshi Kamiya Origami seminar

I went to the Satoshi Kamiya Origami seminar this past week. I think I first saw him on TV in a video my grandmother sent over, a Japanese program called TV Champion. It's a show about competing to find the ultimate in the field - and this episode was about origami. I was amazed to see this guy making all sorts of things during the show. I don't remember the show much, but I just remember I was quite amazed as he won through the competition easily.

Well, he came to Toronto to give a seminar. The one I attended was a beginner seminar that was open to the public. They apparently had an advanced seminar which would've been great to attend, but it was only open to insiders like the people at the Origami society and other Japanese groups.

Regardless, the beginner seminar was a lot of fun. It was a 1 hour slide presentation, followed by a hands-on portion where he would actually show how to make some things using origami. In the slide show, he introduced himself, how origami originated, and what kind of things he's been working on. He even took the time (about 10-15 min) to fold a bear that he created. During the time he was folding, he was doing question / answer session - and from the way he was just folding and answering questions - it seemed like his hands had a mind of its own. This guy lives and breathes origami... very smart.

The folding session was interesting. It made me feel out of touch with the origami community - there was a time when I was actively folding paper and learning... He didn't teach anything that was hard, but I didn't know any of the ones he showed, so I learned something :)

What was great was the samples of his work that he brought with him. It was displayed all around the room - and they were so crazy intricate. The dragon that he's known for... wow. Just sheer amazement. I took several photos of it but it's just amazing how he made all these - legs, claws, many many scales on the dragon from one piece of paper. I'm glad I went to see him... maybe I'll start folding something again :)

ROFL 2007 / holidays / new year!

Yes, yes... I really haven't updated at all in 2007. I should really try to update more often... Happy New Year! 2008, I hope I'd update more than I did in 2007... hahaha, which shouldn't be too hard, seeing I really didn't update much in 2007.

My holiday was rather busy this year. Because I took time off before Christmas in November, I decided I shouldn't take any extra time off during holidays... but boy, now looking back, I think I needed it.

My december started quite busy... jet lag coming back from Japan, catching a cold, crazy snowstorm and our company christmas party kept me away from the mall on the weekends. I really had not much time to shop this year for Christmas, but I think I did ok. I didn't freak out with what to get everyone this year, and got through the shopping pretty smoothly. I even got some great finds, some at sale prices! I'm pretty proud of that this year.

Christmas was a 3 day affair. Annual Family dinner at a certain buffet the weekend before Christmas kicked it off. It was after work, and with my sister-in-law's side of the family. This little gettogether really helped me get into the Christmas spirit that I was missing this year from lack of listening to Christmas music... as I was in Japan during the time malls switch to endless loops of Christmas music. Though these Christmas gettogethers always gets me in a down mood... not sure why. Maybe it's my "why am I celebrating Christmas?" mood kicking in...

Christmas day was spent with my side of the family, which is always a relief period for me. I guess it's something I appreciate because I'm relaxed with them and my family doesn't do anything crazy. This year I got to spend Christmas dinner with my family as well, which rarely happens (as I've always spent Christmas dinner at my husband's parents place, even before we got married). It was all good... quiet, relaxing Christmas day. And no turkey (my family doesn't do Christmas... we had a nice sukiyaki dinner). Ahh.

Boxing day was a crazy whirlwind of wrapping, boxing day shopping and going over to my husband's parents place for the Christmas dinner. I think we've always had boxing day to just boxing day shopping followed by recovering from Christmas dinner... This year, we just celebrated Christmas on boxing day... which was ok, I guess, but it greatly cut down on the time spent there (as we were shopping until like 6). Because we were late, everyone finished dinner already... so I was eating turkey dinner quickly while talking to people who are done dinner. I tried to eat quickly so we can open presents... but how do you wolf down a turkey quickly? Not fun, not fun...

On my last (full) day of work for 2007 year, I went to see a comedy show "ROFL2007" at the Theatre Passe Muraille. It's my 2nd time going, last year it was much warmer as it was during July. It was, though, maybe 3rd time seeing Deep performing stand up comedy. When I met him back in U of 'loo in the hallways of V2, I never thought he's the type of guy who'd do stand-up comedy. I mean, he is funny, yeah... I guess I never really knew anybody who'd go up on the stage to make people laugh. It's always great to see one of his shows, especially since I don't get to see him otherwise (last time I saw him was at my wedding a couple of years back).

The highlights included Rachel Peters who ate fire... what is more fun than a girl dressed up in a funny shiny costume eating fire... at a comedy show? It was not expected so it was funny... :)

Deep was always fun, especially 'cause I know how he's like in real life (i.e. off-stage?). Though I guess he's pretty much the same on stage or off. It's kinda funny to find out things that is happening in his life through his comedy...

The other standup that I enjoyed was the last guy on stage - Ben Mathai. He just made me laugh soooo much. If I had room on the floor in front of the chair, I'd be ROFL... It'll be nice to see him again. :)

After all that... the weekend was spent mostly cleaning and some shopping before new years. Went out on Sunday evening for a little while, to take a break from cleaning and see friends. It was a fun time with lasagna and wii games. I never realized how much I missed simple evenings like that... Gotta try to have more of those evenings in 2008.

Our place looked like a tornado had gone through after Christmas... not to mention all the stuff lying around after our vacation to Japan. It was good that I got to spend time cleaning before the new years, because I feel like we never have the time. We also cancelled our plans on new years eve and spent it mostly cleaning... and quiet dinner at home. We cancelled our plans for New Years day so that we can spend it at home. It felt like a first break we had in months - and it was great. :)

So now that the 2008 year is here, what's in store? I'd like to be more organized this year than last year... because I've been rather disorganized lately. I'm hoping I'll have more time for myself, doing things I enjoy like cooking. I'd like to be in a happier place mentally and physically... and try not to work or be stressed too much! Hoping for a goooood 2008... :)

Fun fun weekend... and work...

This weekend was a very fulfilling weekend! It's great when that happens, but the problem is, you pay for it on Monday...

Saturday, I went shopping for father's day during the day. Wandering around the mall with all these other people who are shopping for exactly the same reason is tiring! The card shop was quite busy and a lot of cards were gone. They have all sorts of cards nowadays, like for first time fathers, stepfathers, fathers from the kids, fathers from the wife, for grandfathers, etc. etc. One card that they seem to have lots of - was labelled "No. 1 dad in America" with a big huge american flag behind the dad... hahaha, who'd thought they'd sell those in Canada? I suppose it's for people who have their parents living in the states...

After the shopping, we got together with Carol and we went out for dinner, movie and dessert. We went to eat at Amore and then we went to see Oceans 13. I wasn't expecting much other than just a funny, light movie with lots of familiar casts, and that's what I got. I liked this one better than Oceans 12, but I think I like Oceans 11 best. This may be a little bit of a spoiler, maybe, but the best thing about this new one, is that they didn't spend time on explaining how the heist is going to be done. The others they spent time on how they are going to do it, and the whole process... this one was more straight forward, get things done. Lots more places to laugh too... so definitely was a good pick to see this one. - Carol - it was fun! We have go out again!

Sunday we spent the time with my parents and my hubby's parents. We first went to my parents to relax and watch the US open with my dad as he was having a lazy sunday afternoon. We fixed the laptop which was giving my dad a problem. (Ok, I didn't do anything... playing with the cat is also fun. hahaha ) Then we went home for dinner, then headed to my hubby's parents place where we chatted and fixed their computer. (Ok, again, I didn't do a thing... ;) Came home late but it was pretty fulfilling weekend! Wish Monday never came...

Work has been rather frusterating lately. I find I am more frusterated and stressed at work lately more than ever. Before I was just stressed I suppose, but now I'm adding frusteration to the mix. My office's new policy on less meetings have been implemented since February or so... but I find not having any meetings really does not help. Sure, we're not wasting time in a meeting - but I always found meetings useful. It's a space to discuss the product and discuss the direction we are going. My bosses think going through and discussing bugs are useless, and sometimes it becomes very tiresome. I agree there, but I am also finding that I am confused a lot and not having an outlet to discuss about it. Everything just gets lost in endless space of emails... so it does help to have a nice weekend to forget this stuff. Laugh, smile, enjoy yummy food & company - I need more of that these days... anybody up for it? Let me know.

Lupin the 3rd

So I've been watching TechTV lately for Lupin the 3rd (ルパン３世) as it's been on pretty much every night lately. It's pretty kewl that such an old show is on tv. It's dubbed of course which sucks because you don't hear the distinct voicing of Lupin or Zenigata in Japanese. (yeah, no ふっじこちゃわ～ん♪)Though I was pretty impressed with the voice dub of Zenigata - they got the raspy voice right. Quite disappointed about Lupin's voice though.
The version they're showing right now is the most common of the Lupin series I guess - Lupin the 3rd is wearing a red jacket. I remember watching this when I was in Japan, so it is quite old...
What I find interesting are the phrases/words the translators or the voices obviously put in. For example, the overuse of the word "friggin". I really don't remember what they say in the Japanese version, but that word comes up a lot in an episode of English Lupin. If you're playing a drinking game, I think that would be a good word to start. haha. I think Jigen is the one that uses that word the most. It makes me want to watch the Japanese version just to check what they say!!! ...anybody know where I can watch the Japanese version??? ;)

TV tv tv...

So May sweeps is starting to end with all sorts of things happening including the announcements of fall season lineups.

I'm sooooo annoyed at NBC for cancelling one of my favourite shows! They've cancelled Crossing Jordan! It's such a good show, and I think this season in particular has been really good. Why oh why did they have to cancel it, and in such bad timing? NBC claims that they had no room for Crossing Jordan, and made room for such new shows as Bionic Woman. Okay, Crossing Jordan has been on TV for 6 years, and they've been shuffling the show all over the place. When it was on Sundays, they were always moved for some award shows or events. And then they moved it to Wednesday and they didn't bother advertising it much. I'm so sad that it didn't get the ending it deserved - as I really hoped something would come out of all that has happened in this last season. NBC better release the show on DVD!!! But in any case, I loved the show... it was good when it lasted. A strong woman lead who is also a Canadian, great cast, great direction... hopefully we'll see more shows like this one, but seeing how a lot of TV stations act lately favouring reality shows and fads (as Bionic Woman is probably came about with Heroes becoming a hit), I doubt we'll see a show like this again.

Speaking of DVDs and Tim Kring (who did both Crossing Jordan and Heroes), NBC announced that they will be releasing Heroes on DVD at the end of August. I'll definitely be getting the DVD for this, but I must say I was a little disappointed with the season finale... they built up so much to this show, and it felt like they needed a lot more than an hour to do justice to this finale.

Ok, so I'm going to mention a little bit of a spoiler, so if you haven't seen it yet, please stop reading now.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
The showdown between Peter and Sylar was only the last 10 minutes or something! I know they have a lot of characters to cover, but but but... the end seemed so rushed! As I sat there watching the firework display in the park through our window (yes, distraction!), I was thinking throughout the show "they're gonna run out of time! they're not gonna finish in xx minutes!" I didn't have to worry because the show did finish at 10:01PM, but it left me unsatisfied. Seemed a bit too rushed and crammed too much into one hour. The end was rather predictible also. Ah well. Still looking forward to season 2!
Just a thought...
If you still have last year's stamps - use them as they are. :) Canada Post is actually honouring the old 51 cents stamps so you don't need to add another cent! I'ts almost the end of April... boy, am I out of touch!
Time's going by real fast... I had a bunch of stuff I was planning on writing here and never got around to doing so... as always. Here are things that's been happening in the last while in no particular order:
- I celebrated my b-day. Another year older... and not a bit wiser. Yay.
- Attended my friend's wedding - quaint, quick but lots of fun.
- Attended the Toronto Art Show. Lots of fun to look around but too pricey to buy.
- went to One of a Kind craft show. More fun to look around and I can afford to buy stuff!
- Went to Design Exchange and went to see Japanese design today 100. Lots of interesting Japanese designs - a nice afternoon stroll.
- Went to see the Jays - the game sucked (and Jays lost) but it was still fun. They need some new music IMO...
- Started a small indoor herb garden... will post pictures if they sprout... hopefully I don't kill it...
- Lost some plants due to: a) repotting b) wind (they flew away ... booo...) c) I'm just bad at growing things d) all of the above
I need a vacation...
I'm back... sort of?
It's been really cold as of late. Wow, it's finally winter. For the past week, as I get up in the morning I find a layer of ice on the rims of the window on the bedroom window. I don't think I've ever seen any ice on the window in the year and a half that I lived in our place. I guess it's that cold. It's kind of nice to take the time to just look at little things like this, to just have a small amount of time to look and reflect.
The past month and a half has been a whirlwind of emotions for me. I'm not going to go into details but there was a lot of thinking that I had to do to sort out my feelings and think about the future. I've been having trouble trying to think of what I really want to do, but I'd like to try to find that about myself again. Life is very precious, and shouldn't be taken lightly. I'd like to think about improving myself and be a healthier, happier me.
I had a lot of depressed times and I guess I still do. Depression is something that comes and goes, and it's an on-going thing. I am fine one minute and sometimes I go into a deep depression that I have a hard time getting out of. Most of the time I am in denial, I guess - try to go through and avoid thinking about it by either doing something, or just sleeping to get away. I never thought how helpful it is to have someone who would listen to my problems... even a short time to talk helps a great deal. I'm seriously thinking about going to see a therapist...
In the meantime, I have to try to write here more often. I know I haven't written here in months, but I need a place to vent sometimes... bear with me, as I don't like going into details so anything I write here may not make sense... hopefully it's going to help me through the healing process.
Monday night TV shows
I loooove watching TV. Yaaay for November sweeps! Mondays have been very exciting these days. :) I usually don't have much to watch on Mondays, but this year with the start of Heroes, I've been glued to the TV on MOndays! Here are the shows I've been watching.
Heroes (new)
I am sooo hooked to this show. The show started off very mysterious, and it's still rather mysterious, but it's getting exciting now. It's about all these characters who are discovering their hidden powers somehow getting together and saving the world... "Save the cheerleader, save the world". The big bonus point for me of this show is, there's 2 asian characters, and they're Japanese! Well, only one of the two is actually Japanese in real life, but it's nice to see... it's not often a Japanese character gets casted on a weekly show! (Actually... is this the first time????) That alone is fresh enough for me. :)
CSI: Miami
Mmmm... Horatio. :) I try to watch this every week as well, as this season started off with a bang! What? They're not in Miami? ;) I still like the original CSI better, but there's a charm only Miami has! Though, every time I watch this show, it makes me think Miami is dangerous and I should never go there! hahaha.
Without a Trace
I've been taping this now, as Without a Trace moved from Thursday nights to Monday nights. Also, Global didn't show the early season and so I was catching it on CBS, on Sunday night (which interferes with my other TV show)... So tape tape tape! I love the interactions of all the characters on this show. :)
Do I watch too much tv? Yeah, probably... other night TV shows to come!
will start blogging again sooooon
Hellooooo world.
Yes, I am still around.
My last post was way back in March.
I have a few unpublished and unfinished posts too, sitting forever as drafts.
Better get cracking and start working again... :D
So a change in template to get myself to update more...
and here's a taste of what to come...
- PSB concert (with pics!)
- DM concert (with pics!)
- Montreal trip
- updates to what I have been up to lately
- new TV shows...
Okay, that's it for now.
What fun! I'm having a difficulty remembering things and I seem to forget what happened unless I write it down. I started to write what happened last weekend (March 17-20) during the week last week and never finished... and for the life of me, I can't remember what we did. Damn for old age! ;) I guess I could sit down and think about it for a while... I know I went shopping last week and bought over $200 worth of stuff at home outfitters and we went out for lunch with my dad... but what else did we do? Hmmm...
Anyway, better write down what I did this weekend before I forget!
March 24 (fri)
Went out to see comedy at Yuk Yuks as Carol won free tickets for her and her 20 friends. Yaaay for free stuff! Of course, as always it seems, me and my hubby were a little late (hubby stuck in traffic) so we ended up parking really close the club, ending up with a $20 parking space. So much for free stuff. ;) Parking downtown is so costly these days, it's crazy!
The comedy had a lot of rude content (no surprise there) but it was fun! One guy in particular was really funny... I was rather uncomfortable, not because of the content but the way I was sitting and how tight the space around me was (facing the table so I can eat my food, but I had to twist to look behind me as the stage was behind me)... shouldn't be complaining though, since we were there rather late. Thanks Carol!
After the show, we went to Chapters ('cause I just miss shopping so much lately) to look around. Only ended up just buying a card for a friend who just had her baby. Then we headed on to Second cup for a drink (mmm... apple cider...) to chat a bit before heading home. I didn't realize how much I missed hanging out at coffee shops! We use to do this lots...
March 25 (sat)
Went shopping to finish off the bridal shower gifts. But prior to that, we went to an outlet sale @ Club Monaco. We bought lots of stuff there! My gawd, so many T-shirts... hehehe. I'm glad we stopped by. I don't think I need plain (but colourful) T-shirts for a while now.
March 26 (sun)
We headed up to my sister-in-law's bridal shower. My hubby was exstatic as his best friend's girlfriend L was also going, so he gets to play with him while we girls had to attend the bridal shower. We headed out quarter past 10 (too early on a Sunday... we never leave in the morn!) and got to the shower a little past 11. It was at my sister-in-law's best friend (and I guess the maid of honour)'s house. It was huge! One of these days, I wouldn't mind getting a house like that... though knowing me, there is just no way I can keep the house as spotless as she had hers. Ah, it's fine for now in our little condo space, I'm having a hard enough time as is keeping that place clean. ;) Anyway, the bridal shower was okay. Lots of food and lots of talking... jellybean and smarties number guessing... gee, that sounds familiar! I still 'til this day have no clue how many skittles were in a jar at my wedding... ;) She didn't get any racy gifts at all...
After the shower, we headed back to L's place, and checked what the boys were up to... just to find out that they weren't home! We were greeted by Belle, their big black dog... Found out that the boys went out to get something to eat (it's like, 3pm! late lunch...), we waited for them to come home, then played their X-box. I suck at games, though it's always fun to play jet set radio. :) Afterwards, they made us a nice dinner (mmmm... chicken!) and had some wine. It was a great evening... and all of a sudden, after the dinner, they bring out a cake with a candle! Whoa, it's for me, early birthday cake! Aww... (*^-^*) It was soooo nice! Ice cream cake from Dairy Queen! Woo! Thanks L & L!!!
March 10-12
Wow, it's mid-march already. Days are just flying by. Can't believe how fast the time is flying.
The weekend was spent catching up on sleep, shopping and cleaning.
Friday I was craving tempura, so spent some time after work frying up a frenzy! When I was cutting all the veggies I didn't think I had a lot, but boy, after frying up so many sliced carrots and onions, I realized I had too much food! Who the heck am I cooking for? This could easily feed 4 people AND have lots of leftovers! It was very yummy and satisfied my cravings, but boy, too much food! After several meals (saturday dinner & Monday lunch) with the leftovers, we still have some left in the fridge. (as of March 13)
I feel like I don't accomplish anything over the weekend as I feel always dead and tired. Saturday was somewhat useful, though running around from one best buy to another (plus futureshop) looking for the 2 disc set of "Harry Potter and the goblet of fire" was just insane. If I knew this was so hard to get, I would've tried to get it on the first day of sale! Many of the stores didn't even have a section with the price for it, making me wonder if they ever had it (but it was on their flyer!). I was originally thinking of buying it at Costco as they are always cheaper, but then found out they didn't have this version. They had stacks and stacks of the single disc version! After 2 best buys and a futureshop, I was thinking maybe I should just order the thing online... and went to another best buy close to the futureshop for the last straw. The last place we went to actually had the price for the 2 disc set though no DVD in the "Harry Potter" area! Hey, they DID have it! After this, we searched around for the new releases area, and found the last 3 copies of the 2 disc set. My gawd, this was crazy! I don't understand why they had to make it so complicated this time around, with widescreen single disc, fullscreen single disc, widescreen 2 disc set, and the years 1-4 set.
Sunday was totally wasted I guess. I was just too tired and too headachy to do anything useful. On days like this, I just need to sleep it off and get it out of my system as I am very cranky and unhappy if I am awake. ;) Asked the hubby to do some grocery shopping, and I slept for a good 3 hours. I guess it wasn't completely wasted as I did get some rest. I went through all the newsprint that was collecting in the house too and recycled them, so that was good also.
Wish I had more sleep though... I seem to never get enough sleep. ;)
I'm still alive! It's been a while...
It's been a while since I've wrote here. Lately I just don't get the urge to write? I'm not sure why, but I guess there's just no time to think about what to write here anymore. The longer I stay away from writing, the harder it is to start writing again.
It's also harder 'cause I don't get much time in front of the computer alone anymore - and it's distracting with people around. ;)
I've been sick most of February. Cold is going around the office, and people are dropping like flies. It doesn't help that I gave my cold to the hubby now so he's sick as well. I've taken 2 days off because of the cold. I've recovered enough to work now, but still caughing like crazy. Hack hack hack. Hopefully I'm better by Saturday so that I don't spread my cold to my friends at the party... not to mention I won't be able to drink with my throat hurtin' so much! ;)
I've been bummed lately because one of the writers I liked reading on a website online has passed away. It's not like I knew the writer or anything, I mean, I just know what he wrote online. He was younger than me, and I guess he had some sort of medical condition - whatever the case, it still bummed me out. This guy happen to be using his own name and was writing for a company that has many writers - so there was a way for me to find out what had happened to him. I guess in that sense, he was lucky. Most people won't get that chance. Many people online write annonymously or use a nickname. A website can just go without being updated, and then disappear into thin air.
Soo... in any case... I haven't been updating for a while, it's been about 3 months since my last post - but made me think that I should update every now and then to let everyone know that I'm alive... though only a handful read here. I'm tired and I'm spent, but I am alive. :)
<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://papayafruits.blogspot.com/2006/02/im-still-alive-its-been-while.html' title='I'm still alive! How time flies! It's been a month and 10 days after the wedding, and I think it still hasn't hit me that I've gotten married. I haven't changed my name yet (still not sure if I want to change my name... ugh) and just trying to go through one day at a time.
The wedding turned out to be great. I don't know where to begin talking about the wedding. I was really nervous, but the makeup worked out great (I didn't look tired and nervous), hair worked out perfect, dress was comfortable, and things went fine. In the church my now hubby was losing it a little (tearing and nervous) but he made a boo-boo during our vows (big one at that!)... the minister made a huge deal about it and everyone was laughing, and after that everything was just perfect. I was nervous and emotional but after that little mistake, I was happy and fine. :) It was really funny... all he did was make a mistake between "and" and "or"... but that made all the difference. ;)
We took pictures after that and I think our photo session was rather long and crazy. Everyone was antsy during that time. Too many group shots - I hope they turned out well. Hopefully we get to see the photos soon.
The reception was fun - I was worried about it all night long but it was very good. There was problem with one of the meal courses, and there was some mishap with the side dishes, but otherwise things turned out well. I think. The night flew so quickly. It seems like it was such a long time ago now that I am looking back. There was lots of stuff that we planned and never done during the reception. But it looks like everyone had fun that night, and I got comments from friends who came that it was fun, so all in all I am pleased.
The honeymoon afterwards was a lot of fun. It was hectic, but it was fun. We went to Vienna (Austria), Prague (Czech Republic), Munich (Germany) and Salzburg (Austria) in 12 days. Lots of running around, yes yes. :D Such a beautiful place Europe is! I loved it. I want to go back!
Well, since we've been back, every day has been rather busy. Work, household chores, cooking, lots and lots of shopping (hoping we'll be finished with shopping soon), and just trying to get by every day. Can't get use to sleeping though. Funny bed and funny guy lying next to me. ;) Ahahaha... yeah, it's just strange. I'm hoping once we get a normal blanket for our bed and a bed frame (as we are currently sleeping on no bedframe and lots and lots of small blankets that don't fit our bed) things would get better. I am not sleeping well yet! ;) It's rather funny to wake up to a messy haired sleepy looking hubby though. But I guess this changes our boyfriend/girlfriend relationship we had before. He's like family now, and though we love each other very much and we're attracted to each other, I'm getting scared that he'll slowly become somewhat of a brother more than a husband. ;) Hopefully things won't change much and we'll be okay... :) Miss having my own time, though! Slowly I'll have to adjust... slowly...
I should learn... We are currently on our Europe tour for our Honeymoon. It still feels surreal that we got married, it all seems like a blur now. The night went so quickly and it just went so perfectly. I am sure we will post up pictures once we get back, although there has been photos going around on the internet already. ;)
I love Europe. We've been to Vienna and Prague so far. Vienna reminded me of an "inaka" in Japan. The rail system is so much better than the TTC, yet they are so laid back. I am not sure why this is always the case. I found a few article on Steven Page's solo project with Stephen Duffy. Aah. Oh yeah. I remember entering for this contest! Yeah, tickets to see Steven Page of the Barenaked Ladies. Woohoo! Of course I was a bit concerned about some of the reviews I found about the Vanity Project, how it is more political and serious than the barenaked ladies. Hmmm....
So I headed over to the NOW mag offices on Thursday (yeah, was a bit busy with stuff to go there during work hours) to get the tickets. After the nice lady checked my ID, she said "Here you go! Enjoy!" and handed me 2 tags (see pic). Oh, they're not tickets? They're tags? Huh???
Kewl.
On Friday, the day of, because the concert was at 6pm, I got my Sweetie to come down around 5:30pm downtown to pick me up and headed to the Drake hotel. Okay, we weren't really doing any homework on which area was under construction, but boy oh boy, there was so much construction on every route we took! We couldn't turn onto some streets, we had to take alternates, and then when we took alternates, some of those were also doing constructions. Crazy! On top of this, the intersection between Queen street and Dufferin (right smack in the middle of where Drake hotel is) was also having construction. Crazy! So, it took us a good hour to get to the Drake.
I was feeling rather upset, thinking I may have missed the whole concert when we walked into the Drake hotel at 6:50pm. (with all the crazy parking and stuff, it took us a while). To our amazement, the concert hasn't started yet.
The person by the front stopped us, asked us if we were one of the Now content winners. I said Yes and showed her the tags, and she said "okay, here are 2 drink tickets each for you. You can have anything on the bar." !!! Whoa. Thanks Now magazine and Steven Page... for the yummy beer. ;)
We went to get a beer and looked around - and found Steven Page mingling with the crowd. Wow, it's small scale. Most of the people around had a tag... We found a nice area with a bar table to stand in front of, near the back of the room. The waitress kept on bringing food out to place on the bar table... wow, free food too. Mmm... We were hungry (as we didn't have dinner yet) so we ate some stuff there. Poached pear with walnuts, and some food that resembled sushi pizza but without the fish. Yum yum.
A short time after that, the new video came on on the screen behind the front stage (later I found out that the song is called "wilted rose") about animals who knows that they are going to be slaughtered, trying to escape the farm. They end up escaping the farm but find out what a crazy world it is and decide to go back to the farm. Oooo... kaay. Dark. And then Steven Page made his way to the stage. He explained that the people in the room is either contest winners, media or friends. Kewl. Saw Paul Myers and Tyler Stewart in the crowd.... ;) He also said it's different to be up there without the guys and started to sing some songs. Most of the people there I don't think knew any of the new stuff, since the album just came out that Tuesday, but it was good. More mellower version of barenaked ladies? After a while, Steve said "I'm also in a band called barenaked ladies, I don't know if you heard of it?" ;) Hehehe... he's still funny. He played mainly on a guitar, and sang a few songs with a harmonica around his neck as well. (he commented he's new with this harmonica, and that if he's not careful, the harmonica will be in his way and he'll bang it on the microphone)
The Vanity Project sound was pretty mellow. It was rather nice to hear Steve's beautiful voice accompanied only by the guitar. It was just him up there, with a guy helping out giving him the correct harmonica / guitar for the songs. The songs i found wasn't as political as I first thought (I thought maybe it'll sound political) though he did mention a certain politician in his song. It's nice to hear him do ballads. :) Different from the usual barenaked ladies.
To my surprise, he sang a few barenaked ladies songs, too. Brian Wilson, Call and Answer, and another song I wasn't really sure of... something about being in a basement... he wasn't remembering his words and he was having problems with the chords that it really didn't matter what he sang. ;) He kept on trying to remember the chord, and once he got the chord right, he would mess up the words... hehehe, it was fun to watch. He didn't know all of his Vanity Project songs' chords either.
He also talked a bit about the Live 8 thing that they were doing, how it is suppose to raise awareness and not money. He also said he was trying to give the white bracelets out for free on the street and nobody took them! I would've! I want one... ;)
All in all, this was such a fun concert to attend. He didn't sing too many songs and I think it ended by 8pm. I was hoping I'd say "Hi" to the guy but he seem to have rushed out after the concert. Oh well. When we decided to leave, and went outside, we found Steven doing an interview outside... oh, so that's why he left early! Oh well, maybe next time I'll meet him!
Followup stuff...
CP24 interview with Steven Page June 24, 2005
Article on Metro June 24, 2005
Article on Canoe June 25, 2005
The Vanity Project
Personality test
Got this from Sizzpop's and Yorugao's sites... What do you wear to bed?
Mmm... usually some sort of sleepwear. Oversized T-shirt and shorts are usually the case. Shorts and tanktop lately because it's been pretty warm. In the winter it becomes long-sleeve big T's. I use to like wearing pants but I seem to take it off in my sleep 'cause my new comforter is soooo warm.
2. What side of the bed do you sleep on?
Centre?
Of course, sometimes (often) blankets and stuffed animals and stuff takes over my bed so in that case I am a little bit off to the left.
3. Do you sleep with a stuffed animal?
I use to. I do still have them on my bed. Bed bunny :) I also have a big huge dog and big huge teddy bear that ends up being on the floor these days.
4. Blanket/bed hog?
I guess so? I wouldn't know. I guess I'll find out in 3 months time!
5. Do you make your bed everyday?
Nope. My bed is always a mess. I guess I should learn to wake up earlier, but when I do, making the bed never crosses my mind. ;)
Tour!!!
Depeche Mode!
Sometime after October!
...enuff said.
;)
[concert] Erasure with Elkland
Date: June 4, 2005 (Saturday)
Time: 8pm door
Venue: Massey Hall
Erasure touring for the 2005 Erasure show with Elkland.
[Elkland]
Mmm... they are like like blur + cure + L'arc~en~Ciel divided by 3? Their music style will fit into the 80's fine, but they have some edge to them. I love the way the lead vocalist dances! He kinda dances rigid and with swinging arms, but arched back ... so it's neat watching him sideways. There is noooo way I can do what he does. I wonder if he took any ballet or gymnastics? (See their video on the web site if you're interested in how he dances). I fell in love with some of the songs they did, but their set was way too short! We kind of missed the beginning of their set (because we were looking at the merch and stuff) but I think we only saw like 3 songs? They must've only done about 5 songs. I wouldn't mind seeing them again. After they were done, I went to the merch desk again to snatch up their debut cd for $15. The one I got was one of the 5 remaining, they went really quick. Vince and Andy did a good job picking them for the tour, Erasure fans would like them a lot.
[Erasure]
Erasure set started off behind the curtains... you'd see just the shadows of people with wings. The crowd was going nutty, I think that segment was rather long but very effective. You can see Andy right away, since he's the biggest of the 'angels'... and then right after the first song, the curtain comes down and we see 2 girls with wings and Andy with wings. :) Vince was there also, in his own strange costume... If Andy was the fallen Angel, then Vince was a pilot of some sort... so strange.
Overall, Andy had 3 costume changes - The angel, followed by a glittery suit, followed by these sparkly um, let's put it this way, sparkly underwear that resembles what Superman might wear (except it's sparkly). Anyway, it was fun to see him doing his thang.
The concert was short, I thought, but they played a lot of popular old track (including some that I've never heard live before) so the crowds in this concert was a lot more happier than the last. The last concert was rather subdued and the crowds were sitting down most of the concert. But at this one, I was able to stand for most of it, which was great!
After the concert, we waited for them to come out, just to find out that they left quickly for Fashion Cares event. Darn. I still haven't met them. Oh well... hopefully next time...
Korean dinner & wedding stuff
Posted up a concert entry that should've been up like a month ago... it's before this post. All its spicey goodness. :D Hope to go again. Got to see a friend that I haven't seen in like a year... well, I seem to see her once every year. Thanks for the gifts! If you need anything from Canada, please let me know! ...or if there's a new CSI book, I'll probably end up buying it... and I can give it to you! ;)
Wedding plans are getting done ever so slowly, but getting done. The hardest, I think, is going to be finding a place to live. I am soooo picky! And because I'm living in somewhere so comfortable, I want more more more more! ...and what sucks is that I can't afford more more more. I can only afford less less less. *sigh*
Tentative plans:
Saturday - Invitations
Tuesday (next week) - florals
[concert] Sarah Slean, Gentleman Reg / Moby, Buck65
Date: April 16, 2005 (Saturday)
Time: 5:30pm door
Venue: Phoenix Concert Theatre
Went to see Sarah Slean on Saturday. It was an early show (at 5:30!) so we decided to go to the gig and eat dinner after the concert.
Opening for her was Gentleman Reg. He probably came on around 6:30? We were standing off centre on the left side, near the speakers.
[Gentleman Reg]
He's just a fun act, I thought. The band consists of a singer/guitar, and another guitarist. It was funny when the guitarist forgetting how the song went (where there was this pause to play the beginning of the song to make sure). There was another happening where the singer (Reg) forgetting what key the song was in. He started to play the music on his own, and then when the guitarist needed to come in, he promptly reminded him that he was off-key. Silly, not very professional, but hey, it didn't bug me. ;) They were rather playful about it, saying how 'professional' they are... I really liked his "boyfriend" song where he started singing "boyfriend, boyfriend, where are you? I've got no money, I've got no boyfriend..." hehehe, very catchy. His voice and style of songs reminded me of another band, but really not sure who.
[Sarah Slean]
She was dressed in this red corset and blue skirt with a bit of flare at the bottom just below her knee. She came out barefoot, too! She started with my favourite song - Eliot - so I was actually happy after the first song (I would've been fine to leave after that! ;)
I got to sneak in my camera and we were fairly close to the front, so I got some good pictures of her! Pretty nifty!
During one of her songs, as she was adjusting the microphone by the keyboard, she cut her finger and she was bleeding. Eeek! She was licking her finger all throughout the song and made a big deal out of it. She said there's like enough blood on her keyboard that she needs to take a picture of the mess. ;) She got a band-aid after the song. I thought it was fun.
All in all, it was such a fun concert... After the show I guess we could've hung around and wait for Sarah to come out, but I was soooo hungry that we ended up going out for dinner instead. Went to this Vietnamese restaurant close by, and then went home happy. Yay.
~~~~~~~

Date: April 18, 2005 (Monday)
Time: 8pm door
Venue: Phoenix Concert Theatre

I could not believe how 2 concerts we wanted to attend ended up being so close together, and on top of that, at the same venue. I doubt there were anybody that were at both concerts except for us. Just strange... but neat! It's also funny that all of the concerts had happenings...
The crowd... what can I say about the crowd other than TALL?! Compared to the crowd at the Sarah Slean concert (which was a lot of girls, and not too tall guys), Moby crowd consisted of a lot (and I mean a lot) of tall guys (many with shaven head ;). It doesn't help when they all stand in the front blocking people like me (asian girl). So, for this concert, I seem to have pictures that didn't turn out, and all my picture has the back of this one big, bald guy's head! ;)

[Buck 65]

Buck 65 is a one-man band ... this guy carries around DAT player, CD player and a turntable with record... he does everything on his own. He cues up either the DAT or CD, and then raps and does some DJ stuff on his turntable while he's at it. I like his music a lot, and he usually have a lot of interesting things to say, but his gig didn't work so well, as one of the song that the audience requested, the DAT suddenly stops mid-song. Oops. ;) He ended up playing another song, oh well.
He had some confetti in his pocket and was throwing them during songs... it's kinda cheesy, I know, but I think it really worked well.

[Moby]

Moby. The last time I saw him was at a big venue @ Molson Amphitheatre a la Area 2. It's such a big difference between that venue and this one. So small... I kinda appreciate the small venue, but this can't be a good thing for Moby. Whatever the case, he is still amazing. He did not have the same band members as the Area tour for this one. Which is unfortunate because I was really looking forward to his basist from the last tour. Oh well.
It was a tone down concert with a lot of acoustic stuff, but he also turned it up a few notches by playing some of his old club anthems. He also did some Canadian tribute where he played a Neil Young and Leonard Cohen, which was very kewl.

Phew, no TTC strike

Just a quick note - that the TTC strike didn't start. Ugghhh!!!

At around 2:45pm this afternoon (friday, of all days), the TTC union announced that they will be withdrawing their services as of Monday morning. Monday bloody morning! They announce that they are going on strike, but they don't go on strike this weekend, they want to strike on Monday? Gawd, just to piss off hard working Torontonians who need to commute to work.

Seriously, if they are going on strike, I would much rather they try to have the strike so that it would not disrupt too many people who has nothing to do with the problems between the TTC owners and TTC workers. WE pay for the TTC. A LOT. I don't think we need to be punished for their problems.

I have so much negative feelings about the TTC these days. I mean, for years, I have had problems with the TTC. They don't care if people smoke at the bus waiting area of the station (where it's clearly marked that there's a fine). The constant delays. Never knowing when the bus / trains would come. Their problems in the mornings when the trains are running slow but they don't let the public know what's wrong. Constant bickering about how they don't get any money. Rude bus drivers.

Okay, I side tracked... I hope the strike doesn't last too long, because they are pretty much taking away my freedom. I need to reschedule my life around needing a ride or waiting for a ride. I am sooo against strikes. I wish they make striking illegal for necessities, such as garbage (a few years ago), doctors and nurses, and transportation.... maybe hockey too. ;)

Strikes basically affects many people to get what they want. It reminds me of a kid who'd whine and cry so they can get that lollipop at the store.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://papayafruits.blogspot.com/2005/04/ttc-strike-ugghhh.html' title='TTC Strike! I was rather saddened to watch it, seeing the drummer being goofy and funny in the videos. I mean, he always look so happy and silly in the videos.... I guess times change. The dvd has all the best videos that they have done, plus a bonus track which is like an interview back in the 80's. Some of the old videos must've been a transfer from video, they didn't transfer very well. You can see the picture quality getting better and better as the dvd progresses (the videos are in order by release date) The band members change as the year goes along as well.

Speaking of DVDs, I am wanting this right now. Hehehe... a bit nerdy, maybe. Too fanatic, for sure. I don't own all of the X-files DVD sets, but I think I want that more. It wasn't a good show, but it was a goofy show. Hmm... we'll see.

Sad, sad day...

I just found out today... that Paul Hester, drummer for Crowded House and Split Enz committed suicide on the weekend. I won't have to think about the dress for the next few months, so I can concentrate on other things. Tonight we're going to meet one of the potential photographers.
One thing I realized after going through all these planning is how much work putting a wedding really is. On TV it just looks really easy with planners and ideas and stuff... but really it's hard work! It doesn't help that we're both indecisive... and I'm hard to please. Y

I'm very needy. Not just for the wedding but pretty needy on all levels. ;) One of my girlfriends have been helping me a great deal on the wedding planning bit. She's been sort of a whip to me. Telling me to do things and think about things so that I am on a schedule. I'm constantly e-mailing her back and forth. I think she'd make a great wedding planner. ;)

Tired.

Lately I've been feeling lonely.
I'm not sure why, I just feel that way.
Not that I don't have anybody around...
But I just feel misunderstood and everybody is against me.
I wish I was happier.
I need something that would just uplift me.
I need rest.

Eek! March!

Uh... last I wrote was beginning of February... I tried to write once between, but blogger was soooo slow and lost my entry. Grr...

So, it's March. Mmm... I guess I'll do a monthly digest... what have I been up to lately?

I got sick. Again.

It was my Sweetie's birthday. Took him out for dinner.

His birthday present is still pending... oops.

Went to this show's taping. It was fun. Rick Mercer is shorter and bigger headed than I thought.

Had a nice Valentine's day dinner. Seafood. Yum.

Went to see OHL hockey since NHL is still on strike ;) ... Brampton team was pretty much like watching the Leafs... they sucked on defense!

Went out for dinner for this girl's birthday

Got sick at the dinner and almost fainted. Sorry to ruin your birthday!

Went bridal gown hunting a few times, some with a friend, and a couple with my mom

Gone to see the doctor

Ate yummy Greek food, and ended up smelling like cheese even though I didn't eat cheese

Watched a theatre show for the girl's birthday. It was a blast! AND I didn't faint! ;)

Decided on the gown I want to buy. Yay! :)

Mmm... I seem to be busy busy busy, which is a good thing. Last blog date was January 19th. How bad am I? (>_<) I cannot believe I haven't had any time to update my blog. Things have been so busy. I've been pretty much working overtime every day. Work has been rather crazy, and so many deadlines, so little time. I was hoping it would get easier, but it's not. There's always something new popping up, or when one deadline is done, another deadline pops up. Never ending! I need a nice loooong break away from work again, but I can't do that, since I need to save up my vacation time for my honeymoon... hmmm... I came down with a form of cold this week too. This is the first time in a long time that I got sick month after another! I just recovered from a cold from January! My immune system must be going haywire. Being sick really sucks. Being sick but well enough to come to work sucks even more. I wish I was sick enough so I can stay at home. Okay, no, I don't mean that. ;) I've been doing a lot of wedding planning as well. I went to a bridal salon last week by myself. On a saturday. Trying on a gown on my own didn't really bother me but it bothered me a lot later, when the lady there was asking me "So, are you planning to come back again sometime soon with someone?" How rude is that? What if I didn't have any friends who would come with me? *sigh* I was feeling rather lonely after that... Boo... After that, I wasn't sure if I wanted to do bridal gown searching by myself anymore. I didn't like that store anyway. The girl who was helping me wasn't interested in me, or my business. She clearly looked bored and preoccupied. I saw her later on at a bridal show, she didn't even notice me. Rude rude rude.

I went gown shopping again last night, with a friend. Found some really nice dresses, but it probably doesn't suit me best. I really liked the dress from the first place I went to... hmm... I guess I'll have to think some more. It's soooo hard.

Monday is my bunny (note: fiancee ;) 's birthday. Oh what to do what to do... Haven't done anything... sorry bunny dear, I'm sick and braindead from work and planning. ;) I'll think of something... sooooon.

Am I *that* nerdy?

Okay, so I was taking this Nerd test ... and was shocked at the results.

I didn't think I was *that* nerdy... of course, my friends scored more than me, so I guess I am surrounded by nerds which cancels out my nerdiness... ;)

Though, I really was annoyed at some of the questions being asked, partly because I guess I am a nerd, or partly because this quiz is American... One of the question being asked was:

Q: What is the highest level of mathematics you have taken?

High School Algebra
Freshman-Level Trigonometry
Freshman-Level Statistics
Calculus
Theory and Logic
Elementary Differential Equations
Linear Algebra

You can only pick one from the list. My question is, is Linear Algebra really higher level of mathematics than Calculus? Since when was Statistics easier than Theory and Logic? I object to this question! I had a terrible time with Calculus... seriously. As a Mathie who use to take Calculus and Algebra at the same year... this was rather a confusing question. ;)

This suits me just fine.

I found this at my friend sizzpop's site...

You Are "Dizzy and Giddy"

 What Japanese Smiley Are You?

Okay... now that I have been playing around...

Mmm... my first english blog.
